Gaggle API terms

Version 1 — effective 21 October 2026

These terms are between Gaggle (operated by Viszen (Pty) Ltd, South Africa) and a provider that Gaggle has registered to use the Gaggle Connect API (“you”). They are short on purpose. Please read them.

Who this is for, and acceptance

They apply to providers Gaggle has registered and gave client credentials. By using your client credentials (or the API with them) you accept these terms for the app you registered. If you use the API for a company, you confirm you can bind it.

Use pilot data only for what the pilot connected you for

A pilot connects your app to get a particular service from you. Use the pilot’s Gaggle data only to provide that service. You must not:

  • sell, rent or share it with third parties, except processors acting for you under terms at least as protective as these;
  • use it to build advertising profiles or for advertising;
  • use it to train general-purpose AI models, unless the pilot has given explicit consent.

The pilot is in control

Respect the scopes, sharing levels and plan limits the API returns. Read /v1/me and connection.updated instead of relying on the token. Do not try to get around any limit, for example by asking for data you were not given, using another account, or combining data to recover what the pilot or their plan keeps back.

Deletion

When you receive connection.revoked, or a pilot asks you to, delete that pilot’s Gaggle data within 30 days, unless the law requires you to keep it. Deletion still applies if your access is suspended or ended.

Data protection roles

Under the GDPR and similar laws you are an independent controller of the data you receive from Gaggle. You need your own lawful basis, and your own privacy notice that tells pilots what you do with their data.

Security

Protect Gaggle data with reasonable technical and organisational measures. Keep your client secret and webhook secret confidential, and rotate them if they may have leaked. Tell Gaggle at hello@flygaggle.com within 72 hours of becoming aware of a breach that affects Gaggle data.

Attribution

Do not say or suggest that Gaggle endorses you or your app. If you show the Gaggle name or logo, use them as Gaggle provides them and do not change them.

Rate limits and fair use

Stay within the rate limits. Use webhooks, ETags and incremental syncing instead of polling, and do not try to avoid the limits.

Suspension and termination

Gaggle may disable your access at any time, for example for a breach of these terms or to protect pilots or the service. Deletion and the other terms that are meant to continue still apply afterwards.

Changes

Gaggle may update these terms. For material changes we give 30 days’ notice by email to your provider contact. If you keep using the API after that, you accept the new version.

No warranty, limited liability

The API is provided as it is, without any warranty that it will be available, complete or error free. To the extent the law allows, Gaggle is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the API, and Gaggle’s total liability to you is limited to what you paid for the API in the previous 12 months (currently nothing). Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Law and disputes

The “Governing Law and Disputes” section of the Gaggle Terms of Service applies to these terms as well.
