Connect your app to Gaggle.

The Gaggle Connect API lets logbooks, coaching tools, wing makers and other services read a pilot's Gaggle data after the pilot has signed in and approved access. You get their stats, their flight log and each flight's track as GPX, and a webhook when they record a new flight.

What you can build

Import a pilot's flights into your logbook, show their totals in a dashboard, analyse tracks in your coaching tool, or keep a wing's flight hours up to date.

The pilot is in control

Pilots choose what to share, switch individual permissions off later, and can disconnect your app at any time. Pilots also choose which sharing levels of their flights an app sees, and Gaggle emails them a security notice when an app is connected.

Every plan can connect

Free pilots share new flights, Frequent Flyer pilots the last 30 days with distance, and Adventurer pilots the whole logbook with distance and weather. The plan sets the history and the detail, not whether the pilot can connect.

Get access

We register providers by hand. Email us with who you are, what you are building, the redirect URLs for sign-in and the URL that should receive webhooks. We reply with a client id, a client secret and a webhook signing secret. You accept the API terms by using them. There is no charge for now.

Request access

How it fits together

  1. 1. You send the pilot to Gaggle. They sign in, see what you ask for, and switch permissions on or off.
  2. 2. Gaggle sends the pilot back to you with a code. You swap it for an access token and a refresh token.
  3. 3. You read /v1/me to see what the pilot allows and which plan they are on.
  4. 4. You sync flights and tracks, and listen for webhooks to stay up to date.
